SurveyMethods provides two types of mailing lists – basic email lists and advanced email lists. Basic email lists are simple lists of emails, with no other identifying information, while advanced email lists include an email address along with up to five custom field values. For more information on the two types, view our help articles on Basic Email Lists and Advanced Email Lists.
To make a copy of an email list, first go to the mailing list menu by clicking the “Mailing Lists” link on the main navigation bar.
Then click the copy icon () next to the email list you wish to duplicate.
You will be prompted to enter a name for the new email list, and when you click Copy, a new email list will be created and added to your mailing lists. You can now view the list, import additional email addresses, edit, delete, or copy the list.
A common use for this feature is to create subsets of mailing lists. Say for example you have a complete employee email list, but you want to send different surveys to employees in different regions. You could make a copy of the full list, name it after the region, and delete the non-relevant emails.
Who Can Use This Feature?
All account types can make copies of email lists, although Basic accounts are limited to 5 email lists total.
